19V:C is our fourth gull to be hand caught at Lochwinnoch this year

19V:C is an adult male Lesser Black-backed Gull.   He was hand caught at Castle Semple Loch in Lochwinnoch on the 5th of July.
19V:C weighs in at 810g and has a wing length of 422mm.  He can be identified by his colour ring 19V:C.

Movements for 2018 below

Over the first few days of tagging we saw that 19V:C spends most of his time at Castle Semple Loch which suggests he has had an unsuccessful breeding season.  He has already been spotted most days in the carpark and when he isn’t here he is down at the whisky bonds in Kilbirnie.

Map updated 21/07/18 19V:C spends alot of his time at Castle Semple where we have seen him on near enough a daily basis.  He is either at the entrance to the carpark at Swan Bay or roosting at the mouth of the River Calder.

Update on the 10/08/18 Unfortunately we won’t be able to update you about 19V:C any longer.  We are not entirely sure if the tag has failed or if something has happened to 19V:C.  We were seeing him on a daily basis at Castle Semple but haven’t seen him for the last couple of weeks but as other birds have left he may have done so to.  We will keep an eye out for him and hopefully he will be spotted by his colour ring.
