Hi everyone, I’m Liam, and I’m delighted to have recently joined the team at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, as a seasonal Ranger.

After graduating in Geology sometime in the mid-1980’s, I had a decade-long career in the oil industry, which took me all over the world. From there, I moved into IT security for a corporate bank, until being made redundant in early 2020.

Seizing the opportunity this offered, I have just recently completed a HND in Wildlife Conservation Management – an experience I thoroughly enjoyed!

My particular interests are ornithology, and the aquatic environment: both marine, and freshwater. I am a keen fly-fisher, and passionate conservationist, and I like nothing better than a good day noodling about in the outdoors – ideally beside a loch or sea, so I’ve landed on my feet here!

I’m lucky to have found myself in this position, and am looking forward to contributing to the upkeep and conservation of the park, and hopefully pass on some passion for conservation to the members of the public I meet and engage with on a daily basis.
