About
Wood mouse, also known as Long-tailed field mouse, can be spotted in woodlands, grasslands and gardens. It is mostly nocturnal and has many predators (owls, cats, birds of prey), which makes its life expectancy relatively short (12-18 months). In order to avoid those predators wood mouse developed a few skills, such as good night vision and swimming, and it also has the ability to shed the end of its tail if caught. In autumn it will gather berries and seeds, and store them in underground burrows.
