Tawny Owl (Strix aluco).

One of the most common woodland owls in Britain, which can be also spotted in urban parks and gardens. Tawny owl is usually rich chestnut-brown with a ring of dark feathers around its face and black eyes. During the daytime it’s often discovered and disturbed by small birds of different species while roosting in the trees, the commotion is helpful in locating the owl. Emerges after dark to hunt for small mammals, insects and worms.
