About
This is one of the most well-known butterflies in Britain. Adult forms can be seen from end of March and beginning of April, as they come out of the hibernation. Both female and male are almost identical in appearance. Favourite nectar sources include Betony, Bramble, Dandelion, Heather, Ivy, Thistles, Thyme, Water Mint and Primrose.
