Ospreys are excellent fishers, therefore they can mainly be seen around rivers, lakes and ponds. They hunt by diving into the water up to 30m deep. Their feet are equipped with gripping pads which allow them to pull the fish out and carry over long distances. Ospreys can be easly identified by their white underparts and distinctive black eyestripe thet goes down the side of their white faces. Due to its historical decline, this bird of prey, is an Amber List species.
