Swallows are summer visitors to Britain, returning to breed between the months of April – September. During the cold winter months they fly thousands of miles south to warmer climates.
The viewing screen is located inside the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre, an ideal place to escape the weather, find out about local wildlife sightings and watch our swallow family while you have a coffee or light refreshments.

The Park is home to ones of the UK’s rarest breeding birds, the Hen Harrier. Our Countryside Rangers are specially licensed by Scottish National Heritage (SNH) to monitor and record any activity in the Renfrewshire Hills Special Protection Area. Highlights from previous years camera projects can be seen, along with illustrated interactive displays and children’s activities in the Visitor Centre. Pick up a leaflet at the Visitor Centre to enjoy your own self-guided walk in Hen Harrier country.
