About
Mute Swan is one of Britain’s largest and heaviest birds, with wingspan up to 2.4m. They can be often seen in ponds, lakes and slow-flowing rivers, feeding on water plants, snails and insects. Male swans are very territorial, they first threaten intruder spreading their wings in an arch and then chase them off.
