About

This 74mm long hawker prefers moorland habitats. The male form has paired small blue spots on each segment of the abdomen with narrow, yellow ante-humerals and blue eyes. The female has similar markings but the spots are yellow, with exception to Scotland where they can be green or blue; the eyes are brown and the ante-humerals are minor or non-existent.
