About
This is one of the most popular damselfly in Britain. Few other species have similar colouration, but what makes the Common Blue to stand out is the broad ante-humeral stripes. The male is blue with a distinctive mark connected to the inter segment of suture by a short line. Female can appear in two colours – blue, like the male form, or dull-green. Common Blue damselfly reaches the length of 32mm and can be found around most waters and on large lakes is the most abundant species.
