About
Bistort grows in meadows and woods, often near water. Its pink flowers form a dense spike and narrow leaves are positioned lower on the stem. Bistort’s roots have medicinal properties, dried and powdered, they were used on cuts and wounds to stop bleeding. Some people grow it in their gardens as a decorative plant, but once established in any place it is very difficult to get rid of it.
