Starting from Muirshiel Country Parks car park the route follows the old mining track up to the byrites mines before heading up over the moors past the old grouse butts and across Queenside Muir to the Renfrewshire/Ayrshire border. Taking int the summit of Hill of Stake, 522m and the highest point in Renfrewshire before walking to Misty Law, then descending down to The Forkings of Raith with a crossing the river Calder before making your way back to the Visitor Centre.
This is a strenuous walk, of about 8.5 miles, It is not a walk for ‘trainers’, boots and gaiters advised.
Walkers are requested to dress appropriatley for scottish hill walking and to wear sturdy boots also consider carrying ‘wet gear’, spare clothing, food and drink for three stops.
