Carbon locking lifeforms in Erskine

Yesterday six staff from Clyde Muirshiel, Gleniffer Braes and Renfrewshire Council finished planting a new woodland at Barwood Park, Erskine.  One thousand trees have now been planted. Last week we planted 500 trees and this week we planted 500 more. Could be a catchy song title.  In the weekend ahead volunteers from the Erskine Community Garden will plant a further 200 trees alongside those already in place.  The garden volunteers will also be looking after the maintenance of all the trees planted, which is much appreciated.  The native trees as well as transforming the landscape will encourage more wildlife to the area and with concerns about climate change the trees will lock up carbon as they grow.
