Volunteers have completed the planting of 350 Aspen including 160 different labelled clones that are beside a new path through the central part of the felled area at Muirshiel.  Aspen rarely flowers and sets seed and the remaining wild clones survive mainly as isolated specimens in remote areas.  A few years ago there were only a handful of Aspen trees within the Regional Park but recent planting has taken place at Parkhill Wood and at the Muirshiel Mine. The trees were supplied by Aspen propagator’s Eadha that have been involved in planting Aspen locally and across Scotland.
