We’re powering up for the new season at Clyde Muirshiel this Spring with events to suit all the family. Literally engage your gears with our cycling Sportive Pedal the Park on Sun 23 April, decorate and roll your eggs down one of Inverclyde’s highest hills at the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre or complete a self guided hunt for the Easter Bunny at Castle Semple or Muirshiel Visitor Centres.
Our Visitor Centres across the Park will change to summer opening hours from Saturday 1st April, Castle Semple will be open from 10am – 5pm and Muirshiel and Greenock Cut Centres will open at weekends and public holiday, 11am – 4pm selling ice creams, hot and soft drinks and light refreshments. We’ll have you enjoying a rewarding tasty treat after your walk/run/cycle whatever the weather.
A two week break with the kids is a long time to fill with activities so why not have a go at walking, cycling or scooting a section of the Semple Trail. The children can be entertained completing the Semple Trail ‘Kids Passport’ – its FREE! It’s full of fun activities and things to do and see around the route. The trail is 12km long so wouldn’t it be a great achievement once cut into bitesize pieces. Alternatively the Shielhill Glen Nature Trail at the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre has 12 ‘Wood Spirit’ hiding along the Nature Trail- how many will you find this Spring holiday?
Our on site partners RT Cycles based in Kilbirnie will be open every day during the Easter holidays at Castle Semple Centre hiring bikes for all ages and abilities. Plus they now have an exciting new range of electric powered bikes so that everyone, even if you haven’t been on a bike for a while or are out of practise, can now access the countryside.
