Last week we managed to catch another two gulls for tagging. This time we hand caught them at Castle Semple Loch. Both gulls are males and can be identified by their colour rings 12V:C and 13V:C. Just like many of our gulls that we caught in Lochwinnoch last year, these two roost and nest on Little Cumbrae. We reckon, by plumage and other features that 12V:C is possibly four years old and is unlikely to be breeding and 13V:C looks to have a nest on Little Cumbrae as he remained there for three days after tagging. Keep your eyes peeled for them at Castle Semple as they have already been spotted in amogst the gull flock.
