Find out where our Lesser Black-backed Gulls are hanging out

Each of our gulls has been fitted with a GSM (Global Satellite Monitoring) tag which is fitted onto a harness and the birds wear the tag like a backpack.  The tag is solar-powered and it is hoped that each tag should work for 2 or more years.   This will allow us to track the daily movements of the gulls while they spend the breeding season in the UK and then on their winter migration.

Adopt Our Gulls

Looking for an unusual gift for a birthday, wedding, christmas etc?  Then why not adopt one of our gulls.  All profits will go towards the costs of the download data package for each tag.  Each adoption pack includes your very own fluffy gull, a certificate, a factsheet about your gull and monthly email updates about your bird.  Your name will also be added to your gull’s webpage.  Each pack costs £25 and can be purchased here.

Business Sponsorships

We would like to thank our current business sponsors, Starling Learning and Wild Surveys Ltd who’s generous sponsorship allowed us to purchase the teflon harnesses which we use to fit the tag to the gulls.  If your business would like to be involved in Tag-n-Track then please contact us on tnt@clydemuirshiel.co.uk

Tag-n-Track is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, Greater Renfrewshire and Inverclyde LEADER and Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park
