Clyde Muirshiel Festival Of Cycling

A selection of cycling events around the Park, 1st to 7th of July with partners; Ride 63 Cycle Club , the Bothy at Inverclyde & RT Cycles

Welcome to a Festival Of Cycling.

Between the 1st and 7th July a range of events will be on around the Park involving all things cycling. The majority are self led so can be done at anytime that suits you!

Alongside these there are a couple of organised rides taking place from Castle Semple and some e-bike demos and drip in maintenance days.

The organised events will all be posted on the Park Facebook page along with the Ride63 cycle club & Bothy pages so keep an eye on them for all the up to date info.

Ride 63 also have rides every Tuesday, Thursday and weekends (to suit all levels of rider) throughout the year so have a look at the Facebook page to find out more.

The programme of free events is listed below along with the self led rides with strava links to give you a view of the routes

The Muirshiel Explorer DIY ride is new for 2019. The idea is that you will collect a score card from Castle Semple and then cycle or walk to each of the park centres ( Castle Semple, Muirshiel, Greenock Cut and Lunderston Bay ) where you will find a wooden disc with a famous Scottish cyclist on it. Make a note of the cyclist on the score card and then once you have all 4 claim your free coffee at Castle Semple. Do it one day for a decent ride or over as many days as you wish.

RT Cycles are running drop in sessions on 6th and 7th July 11 -3 pm to get your bike checked over by a mechanic, this will be at the bike. shed at Castle Semple.

RT Cycles are also running e-bike demo sessions on 6th & 7th July again from the bike shed at Castle Semple , so if you have ever wanted to try out an e-bike get in touch with them and come along for a try out.

6th July led rides by Ride63 CCC – new to cycling or wanting to get back into it,  then come along to one of our organised rides, each ride will be around 1.5 hours in duration on flat traffic free/ or very quiet back roads. Our experienced ride leaders will guide you along and provide advice & help along the way and give you all the info you need to know about the club and how to get more involved with our weekly rides.

You can hire a bike form RT Cycles if you need one. The rides will leave from Castle Semple at 10.30 am and 1 pm so just pop into our cycle friendly café and let them know you want to take part and they will point you in the right direction.
