Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park provides a great escape for the people of West Central Scotland and promotes recreation, conservation, and tourism for everyone. The successful applicant will work as part of a team to assist in achieving Clyde Muirshiel’s objectives in community involvement, education and recreation management.

It is essential that you have experience of working with groups or schools and conservation/ environmental groups, have effective communication skills, the ability to work with written/ numerical data; the ability to work with minimal supervision and experience of using a Geographic Information System and possess a full current driving licence. In addition, there will be a requirement to work in an outdoor environment and be available to work occasional weekends.

A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Countryside/ Recreation Management/ Environmental Science/ History is essential. You should have experience of procurement of materials and equipment for project development and control of a budget within the project.

It is desirable that you have experience of; recreation management; environmental education, working with volunteers and the delivery and running of small events. It is also desirable that you have interpretation skills, an interest in recording oral history and knowledge of Scottish history.

It is desirable that you hold a valid certificate in First Aid.

This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently, individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
