Sailors Quest for New Boats.

The South West Scotland Special Olympic sailing team did the majority of their training on Castle Semple Loch, in Renfrewshire this year and came back with two Silver and a Bronze Medal.

The team did really well in Sheffield this summer and now have their eyes set on the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019.  However, training in the ‘right’ boats would make a big difference hence the funding application to try and get ‘RS Quest’ sailing boats.

Clyde Muirshiel, Scotland’s only Centre of Excellence for Sailability have been working with the Able2Sail charity, based at Inverkip to support and train these young sailors for the Special Olympics.  In a bid to help the training they would like to get a fleet of RS Quest sailing boats hence an application to fund the purchase of 4 boats.

Able2Sail have applied for £25000 from the Aviva Community Fund to continue the good work they do to get more young people sailing, the project has been shortlisted but it now needs your votes to get the chance to win this amazing amount of money.  Full details, including how to vote are in this link

Please share and give them your 10 allocated votes before it closes on 21st November.
