The woodland and heather moorland of Muirshiel provide great access for school trips and families to find out more about local wildlife and their habitats.
The Visitor Centre & Country Park gives easy access to ‘great walking country’ in what was once an impressive Victorian shooting estate.
Walks and trails are open daily all year round. The Visitor Centre is open in weekends only during the summer (Apr-Oct) season, 11am – 4pm.
Options include walking, cycling, volunteering, wildlife watching, Ranger events or relaxing with a picnic at the on site barbeque areas. There are family friendly suggestions too.
Muirshiel’s wild landscape in and around the Country Park is perfect for more adventurous walking, Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions and our land navigation courses.
Muirshiel Country Park is located 5 miles from Lochwinnoch, 3 miles of which is on the very scenic Calderglen Road.
