Situated in the heart of Inverclyde’s historic water catchment area, the Greenock Cut is a scheduled monument with fantastic views and trails.
Greenock Cut has an indoor and outdoor classroom facilities and a mixed range of habitats for youger and older children to investigate.
Tracks, trails and car parks are open daily. The Visitor Centre is open weekends in summer (Apr-Oct) and closed in the winter although there is access to the exhibition if the Rangers are on site.
Stroll along the Nature Trail and hunt the wood spirits of the Shielhill Glen or ramble alongside the lochs and reservoirs. See the interactive Greenock Cut exhibition or learn about nature at a family Ranger Event.
Great walking, cycling and wildlife opportunities surround the Centre, plus the wild land around the Centre makes it perfect for adventures by Duke of Edinburgh or our land navigation courses.
Set next to Loch Thom high in the hills of Inverclyde, you can access Greenock Cut via the scenic Old Largs Road or Shieilhill Glen Road from Inverkip.
