New species caught at Muirshiel.

A Muirshiel first!!

On Sunday the 3rd of June the Tag-n-Track team were at Muirshiel for a bird ringing demonstration. It was a lovely calm day and we caught 14 birds! These were a mixture of coal tits, dunnocks, siskins and great tits and at the very last minute of the day we caught a wood pigeon! This is the first time that one has been caught at Muirshiel and up close these birds have beautiful plumage and are also very sweet natured! They weren’t seen last year however this year they have been spotted around the area where we have the mist net set up. Remember that our next ringing event will be on the 30th of June at Greenock Cut as part of a day of bioblitzing! See you there!
