Another sunny day, another visit to Greenock Police Station roof to check on the gulls chicks. As the sun was beating down we slowly walked to the shady parts of the roof where we found Gary’s chicks. They both sat quietly as they were fitted with their metal rings before being placed back in the shade. We knew there was one more chick that belong to the pair that we were unable to tag but couldn’t find it. Just as we were about to leave it was spotted doing an ostrich impression with its head hidden behing a drainage pipe. This chick takes after its parents and is incredibly fiesty. Ring fitted and we left them all to keep cool. We must share our continued thanks to Glen of Police Scotland for allowing us access to the roof.
