Tuesday saw the delivery of the first Tag-n-Track group session to Paisley’s Cotton Club. The group has been coming to visit Muirshiel Country Park for the last few months and are currently working towards their John Muir Award. As part of the award they are learning about the local wildlife and the Tag-n-Track team was more than happy to run a Bird Ringing Demonstration for them.
The group saw coal tits, great tits and finally a pair of long-tailed tits receiving their rings as well as having their biometrics taken. Many of the group were keen to release the birds and thankfully they all had the opportunity to do so. They learned about migration and what we have planned with the gull tagging project.
The Tag-n-Track Project is supported by funding from Heritage Lottery Fund, Greater Renfrewshire and Inverclyde LEADER and Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
