Clyde Muirshiel and Ride 63 Community Cycling Club Pedal the Park Road Sportive will take place on Sunday 23rd April 2017. Last year the 100km road ride attracted over 200 cyclists and organisers are this year hoping to beat that once again, raising more money for our chosen charity partner CLIC Sargent.
The sportive route takes participants from the start at Castle Semple Visitor Centre in Lochwinnoch, north through Renfrewshire, down along the coast through Inverclyde, then uphill and inland to the first challenging climb to the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre and the first feed station & toilets. From here, at Loch Thom, participants descend into Largs and head along the coast for the second challenging climb – the very scenic Fairlie to Dalry Moor Road in the North Ayrshire. Then, it’s nearly all downhill to the finish back at the Centre in Lochwinnoch.
A provisional route was posted however roadworks have since been announced on the road so the revised route will be up soon.
Entry costs just £15 including £5 donation to CLIC Sargent in Scotland. On the day entry is £20 and you won’t be guaranteed an event goodie bag.
You can also raise more money for the chairty when sponsorship forms are sent out nearer the time or create your own internet online donation page. Please note this is not a closed road sportive.
Go on… it’s time to enter
