Enter Pedal the Park 100km cycling sportive on Sunday 5th May 2019, hosted by Clyde Muirshiel and Ride63 Community Cycling Club. Online entry via British Cycling is now OPEN.
This will be the 5th year for the popular Pedal the Park. The scenic sportive takes in roughly the boundary of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. You’ll be pedaling along next to Loch Thom in the hills of Inverclyde, scale the challenging climb of the Dalry Moor Road and the return to the ‘jewel in Renfrewshire’s crown‘ at Castle Semple Loch!
As this is not a closed road sportive the exact route it will take will be posted closer to the event to allow for any last minute local authority roadworks notices to be taken into account. The GPX file will be available on this page when it is finalised.
What’s Included for £20? There is a feed station at Greenock Cut Visitor Centre, next to Loch Thom, stocked with home baking, light snacks and water. There is a £7.50 donation included to our charity partner CLIC Sargent in Scotland who help children and their families affected by cancer in the local area. Also included is the support of our broom wagon, volunteer marshals and a finishers medal and goodie bag at the finish line. Of course this is all on top the great day out you will enjoy!
The ride will begin at 8.30am from Castle Semple Visitor Centre, Lochlip Road, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, PA12 4EA. The site sits conveniently next to National Cycle Route 7. Riders will be able to register from 7.30am and grab a coffee from the Visitor Centre cafe on site. All details of the day will be confirmed in the Pre Event Rider Park which will be issued by email to all riders 2 weeks prior to the event. It will also be available on the Clyde Muirshiel Downloads page.
You can also enter by filling out a paper entry form, download one from our website – Non-Comp_Entry_Form and post along with a cheque (made payable to Ride 63 Community Cycling Club) or £20 cash in person with your form to Castle Semple Visitor Centre (open daily 10am-4pm, Apr onwards 10am-5pm). There are also copies of this form at Castle Semple available to pick up and complete over a coffee – use it as a refuelling stop while you’re out on a training ride!
