Flat Water and Grade 2 Moving Water

Course length – 16 hours Excluding breaks
Minimum age – 16yrs (Candidates must be over 18 to be deemed responsible by law for leadership,however you can take the assessment at age 16.)
Successful performance at this level indicates that the paddler has personal skill level and leadership ability to lead a group on moderate water. They can do this in a competent manner whilst leading a group and have the knowledge and ability to make good descisions when traveling down a section of a grade two river or on flat water in moderate conditions. A successful candidate will be able to evaluate a group of paddlers and decide on a suitable trip to meet their students needs.
Must have evidence of at least 3 journeys on flat water and Grade 2 river as a group member and another 3 as an assistant leader in both environments. The Journeys must involve overnight camping.
You will need
· Boat, Paddle and Poles (available for hire from the centre)
· Appropriate leadership equipment for Flat water and moving water conditions
· Transport to and from venue

· 2 day First Aid
