Road users are asked to watch out for nearly 300 cyclists this coming Sunday 23 April.
Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park along with Ride 63 Community Cycling Club is hosting ‘Pedal the Park’ a challenging 100km road cycling sportive around the stunning scenery of Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and North Ayrshire. The event is again supporting CLIC Sargent by donating a third of all entry fees to help children with cancer in the local area.
Cyclists will leave in 2 minute intervals from Castle Semple Visitor Centre in Lochwinnoch at 8.30am. The route takes them roughly around the Regional Park’s 108 square mile boundary and features 2 challenging climbs, one out of Greenock up the Shielhill Glen Road from Inverkip and the other is up over the Dalry Moor Road from Fairlie.
Cyclists will be going through the following locations:
Bridge of Weir
Organisers expect the fastest cyclists to take about 3 hours others 5 maybe 6 hours – please be patient and give them a wave if you are out and about and see them on route!
