Art in the Park 2014An Art Exhibition inspired by the scenic local environment in this the Year of History,Heritage and Archaeology is just opening for 10 days only at Castle Semple Visitor Centre, Lochwinnoch.

‘Art is the Park’ is a free to visit exhibition of art works by Lochwinnoch Art Group. All of the works on display are available for purchase and are produced locally by the Group’s talented members.

Clyde Muirshiel Park Authority Chair Cllr Gilmour officially opening the exhibition at a special preview evening.  Much of the art is inspired by the Regional Park’s scenic landscapes and features such as swans and curling on the loch, local cottages and wildlife as well as a few further afield landscapes such as the Isle of Arran are on display.

The exhibition, now in its fifteenth year, is open to the public at Castle Semple Centre’s Sempill Room until 3pm on Saturday 28 January. This year the exhibition is bursting with quantity in the 70 works available.  The Centre is open for viewing and purchasing every day from 10am until 4pm.

Why not make a day of it and try out the Johnshill Parkhill Wood loop path, now celebrating its fourth year anniversary. Or for the more adventurous, explore the 12km Semple Trail, now with fully illustrated accompanying guide, children’s activity passport and maps. Our local heritage has never been so accessible. The Café has plenty of warm drinks and refreshments on your return to accompany your perusal of the art exhibition.
